How to Start a Faceless TikTok Channel: An Honest Beginner's Plan

A realistic first-month plan for faceless short videos: picking a niche, writing hooks, filming without your face and posting on a schedule.

Many people would like to make short videos but don't want to show their face. The good news: plenty of useful channels never do. Hands-only tutorials, screen recordings, text-on-screen tips and voiceovers over simple footage all work.

Here's an honest plan for your first month. Honest means this: nobody can promise views, followers or income. What you can control is showing up consistently with useful videos.

Week 1: Pick a niche and three pillars

Choose a topic you enjoy and know a little about: cooking on a budget, organizing, woodworking, study tips. Then pick three content pillars inside it. For a home-organizing channel, that might be kitchen, closets and weekly routines. Pillars keep you from running out of ideas.

Week 1: Write 30 ideas

Write 10 ideas for each pillar. That's 30 videos, enough for a month. Good sources: questions people ask in comments and forums, mistakes you made when you started, and "how I do X in 30 seconds."

Week 2: Write hooks

The first two seconds decide whether someone keeps watching. Start with the result or the question, not a long intro. A few formats that work:

  • "Stop doing X, try this instead"
  • "3 things I wish I knew about X"
  • "Here's how to X in 30 seconds"

Week 2–3: Batch-film without your face

Film five videos in one session. Use your hands, your screen or simple B-roll, natural light and a phone. Add captions, because many people watch with the sound off.

Week 3–4: Post on a schedule and review weekly

Post at the same times each week so you build a rhythm. Once a week, not every hour, look at which videos people watched to the end. Make more like those.

Give it 30 days

Most people quit after a week because nothing happens yet. Plan for 30 days of steady posting before you judge the results, and treat the first month as practice.
